Habiter is a design studio located in Lutruwita Hobart, Tasmania that explores the rich notion of placemaking. We seek to gain a deeper understanding of the broader context down to the micro environment that a given project finds itself, distilling a response that speaks to the place and the people who inhabit that place. We listen and understand our client’s unique way in the world, thoughtfully creating bespoke dwellings, alterations, additions, spaces and things that inspire a deeper way of living. A practice driven not by scale or grandeur but by the value of the ideas. Our human approach to design also fosters a deep respect for the Australian landscape, its traditional owners and integrates sustainable, enduring and environmentally conscious practices, and passive design principles. We seek to create healthy, nurturing spaces for a deeper connection with nature, ourselves and others.
